Movie Spot Terms of Service

The rules for playing Movie Spot, sharing results, using embedded trailers, and reporting a problem.

Last updated: 2026-09-30

Using Movie Spot

These Terms govern your use of the Movie Spot website and game, operated by Movie Spot (“we” or “us”). By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Our Privacy Policy separately explains how information is processed; accepting these Terms does not replace consent where consent is required for a particular use of data.

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you need a parent or guardian's permission under the law where you live, use the service only with that permission and supervision. Film trailers may contain scenes, language, or themes that are unsuitable for some viewers.

What the game provides

Movie Spot is a free entertainment game in which you identify films from progressively longer video clues. You can search for an answer, replay unlocked footage, move through difficulty levels, and share a result. No account, payment, or subscription is required for the current game. The service may display ads, including ads served by Google; our Privacy Policy explains the cookies and choices involved.

A round offers four clue stages: one, three, six, and ten seconds. Wrong answers and skips use the available chances. Replaying an unlocked clue does not spend a chance. Search results distinguish films by identity, including their release year; a remake or sequel is not automatically accepted as the original film.

Movie selections, difficulty labels, search matching, and playback may change as we correct errors or update the game. “Unlimited” means there is no daily puzzle limit, not that the catalog contains an unlimited number of distinct films. Titles can repeat, and access remains subject to availability and reasonable technical limits.

Play fairly and respect the service

You may use Movie Spot for personal entertainment and share the result text or ticket provided by the game. You must not:

  • Interfere with other visitors' access, overload the service, or send automated requests that disrupt normal operation.
  • Evade security controls, rate limits, or round validation, or try to access another browser session or private data without authorization.
  • Introduce malicious code, submit deliberately harmful requests, or use the service for unlawful activity.
  • Misrepresent a connection with Movie Spot or present altered results as official rankings, certifications, or prize awards.
  • Copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit third-party footage or other protected material without the permission or legal right required for that use.

These restrictions do not remove rights that applicable law gives you and does not permit us to restrict. We may limit or suspend access to address abuse, security concerns, or violations of these Terms.

Films, trailers, and ownership

The films, trailers, performances, soundtracks, artwork, titles, and third-party trademarks displayed or referenced in Movie Spot belong to their respective owners. Movie Spot's original text, branding, interface, and game implementation remain protected by the rights applicable to those materials.

Playing a trailer in the game does not give you ownership of it or permission to download, record, redistribute, or adapt it. The result-sharing feature permits you to share the supplied result output; it does not grant rights to the underlying film footage.

Movie Spot is an independent game. We do not claim that studios, filmmakers, distributors, YouTube, or other services endorse or sponsor it unless we expressly say so.

Embedded playback and external links

Trailers are delivered through YouTube. Your use of its player is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Videos may be removed, restricted in your region, changed by their uploader, or interrupted by a provider. Playback can also depend on your browser, connection, device, and third-party settings. We cannot promise that every video will always be available or free of spoilers in the footage or player.

Links and sharing buttons may take you to services operated by others. Those services have their own terms and policies. We do not control their content or your interactions with them.

Progress and results

The game uses a browser session to retrieve saved progress. Clearing cookies, changing devices, an expired session, or technical changes can make that progress unavailable. We do not guarantee permanent storage or recovery of a particular round.

Scores and result tickets are for casual entertainment. They are not verified rankings and carry no cash value or entitlement to prizes. Network or playback issues, catalog corrections, and differences between selected films may affect results. Do not use them as the basis for a paid competition unless separate rules and permissions have been established.

Reporting a problem or a rights concern

Contact support@moviespot.co if you encounter an incorrect film, failed video, accessibility issue, or other problem. Include the affected page, the film title if known, and enough detail for us to locate the issue.

If you own rights in material presented through the game, or are authorized to act for the owner, send the affected Movie Spot URL, the video or work concerned, a description of the rights issue, and a way to reach you. We may ask for information needed to verify the report. We may disable a clue or remove a reference while investigating; receiving a report does not itself establish that an infringement occurred.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide a useful, playable service, but Movie Spot is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, compatibility with every device, or continued availability of a particular feature or film. Maintenance, provider changes, legal requirements, or security issues may require us to change or suspend the service.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude implied warranties and liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the service, including lost data or profits. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or takes away mandatory consumer rights. Where the law limits a disclaimer or exclusion, that law applies.

Changes and contact

We may revise these Terms as the game and its providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required. Continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
