How to reach the Movie Spot team about a broken trailer, a wrong title, an accessibility problem, a rights concern, advertising or press.

Last updated: 2026-10-10

One address for everything

Movie Spot is an independent movie guessing game run by a small team. We do not have a phone line or a ticket portal; every message goes to the same inbox and is read by a person.

Email: support@moviespot.co

We reply from the same address. Messages in English get the quickest answer, but we will do our best with other languages. We aim to respond within a few days; reports about a trailer that will not play or a film that is matched to the wrong title are handled first because they affect the next round for everyone.

Please do not send passwords, cookie values or other private credentials. Nothing on Movie Spot requires an account, so we will never ask you to sign in or to confirm payment details.

What to include

The more precisely you describe the problem, the faster we can reproduce it.

  • A trailer will not play, stops early or shows the wrong footage: the page you were on (for example Unlimited, a genre quiz, the Daily Challenge, Moviedle), your browser and device, the approximate time in UTC, and the film title if the answer has already been revealed. Please do not describe an unrevealed Daily Challenge film in a way that would spoil it for others.
  • A film is missing from search, or the wrong year or title is shown: what you typed, which film you expected to find, and what the suggestions showed instead. Alternate and original titles come from The Movie Database, so tell us if a common alternate title is missing.
  • A difficulty feels wrong: the mode and difficulty, the film, and why it seemed too easy or too hard for its level. Difficulty is set once per film across the whole site, so we review these reports in batches.
  • Leaderboard problems: the date in UTC, the nickname involved, and what you saw. We can hide an entry that uses an offensive name or appears to be automated; we cannot change a published score.
  • Accessibility: the page, the assistive technology or input method you use, and what you were unable to do. We treat these as bugs, not feature requests.
  • Film suggestions: the title and release year, and the mode you have in mind. We check that an official trailer is available and that a passage can be chosen without revealing the answer before a film enters the library.

Rights holders

Trailers play through YouTube's embedded player from the uploads of studios and distributors; posters, stills and movie data come from The Movie Database (TMDB) through its API. Movie Spot does not host, download or re-edit video.

If you believe a trailer, poster or still is being used on Movie Spot in a way that infringes your rights, email the address above with the URL of the page, the title of the film, a description of the material and your relationship to the rights holder. Our Terms of Service describe how we handle these reports; where a video is embedded from YouTube, removing it at the source also removes it from the game.

Advertising, press and partnerships

Movie Spot is free to play and supported by advertising served through Google. We do not sell ad placements directly or accept sponsored puzzles, and we do not share player data with advertisers beyond what our Privacy Policy describes. Press enquiries and questions about linking to or embedding the games can be sent to the same address; please mention the publication or site you represent.

Privacy requests

To ask what information we hold in connection with your browser session, to request deletion, or to withdraw a published leaderboard entry you can no longer reach from your own browser, follow the steps in the Privacy Policy and email us. Because the game has no accounts, we may need a little context, such as the date you played and the nickname you used, to locate the right record.

Before you write

Many questions are answered on the game pages themselves. Each mode has a rules section and an FAQ below the game, and the About page explains how the library is built and how difficulty is assigned. If what you need is not there, we would like to hear about it: unanswered questions are how the FAQ grows.
